Hi – how many of you have heard this saying “we plan God laughs” there are many topics we can discuss around this saying. The idea of free will, what is choice, how do we decide, who plans, what do we plan, whose plan do we live, from where do we get the idea to do something and plan to take an action, coincidence, past life correction and the reincarnation process etc. I will write on these topics over the next few days. I invite your input, definitions, and stories.
Let me start by telling that this past Sabbath I went to a seminar regarding my practice as a health and wellness coach . We dealt with the issues of weight management, weight loss, and diet. We talked about creating Habits of Health and how to coach people in breaking old habits that are detrimental to their health and creating new ones ( a small plug for my holistic health practice – Energetic Touch )
So the question is how did I decide to go. I had made a rule a few years ago not to leave my family on the Sabbath even if I could observe the Sabbath and have a Synagogue to go to and listen to the Torah portion of the week. First let me explain about the Torah portion. The old testament, the five books of Moses, has been divided into fifty-four portions. Each portion is read during the Sabbath service. These portions or part of them are also read on every holiday, new moon event, on Mondays and Thursdays . The weekly readings follow a sequential order that starts around the Holiday of Sim-chat Torah – The joy of the Torah and continues portion by portion.
There are other questions that I will just ask for now and be open for comments and answer whatever questions that are presented. Why fifty-four not fifty two portions. What is a leap year. What are the differences between the different calenders used around the world, why must we read and listen to the portion each week.
Is it by chance that each portion has a certain amount of verses. So to get back to the beginning there is no such thing as chance or coincidence. When I decided to go away what happened. My logical rational mind said – I just started this area of coaching people with weight management it is an opportunity to learn and help my clients. There happens to be an Orthodox Synagogue within walking distance of the hotel, and the seminar is given exactly during the middle of the day when I would be free and not have to attend services. Wow what luck, what coincidence, I could not have asked for a better scenario – I am going to the seminar. Did I decide on my own using my free will, perhaps it was all a coincidence, or was there another process going on?
The one minute reiki meditation: Just for today I will see all the events in my life without confusion. Just for today I will see the order of things and how to manifest my desires through my planned actions. Just for today I will let go of all of this and alow the Light to guide me to what needs to get done and revealed. We plan and god laughs Just for today I Will inject consciousness to each of my actions.
Robert,
yes the lord works in mysterious ways. I ‘m glad you were there. I hope it was fruitful for you and that ‘ll you be able to take what you learned and translate it to your clients who need your help.
Many blessings.
Robert
